[I'm x-posting this here on behalf of scalarparty because they failed to do so fast enough on my request... sorry if they do it again :P]

"Hi. (xposted, srry)

I made a few documentaries on climate change and especially cliamte change solutions. These movies are between 10 and 5 years old, but somehwo still bnot really out of date (10 years ago it was tough telling people some of this stuff that seemed "crazy" then). They are online now and free, so feel free to check them out!

so anyway, the fist one is really more like an activist movie, pretty in your face (and for most people heer, teh 20 minute intor might be redundant) but its still got something.... it's called the earth changes, or EARTHCHANGE I

the second one was a little toned-down (I aimed it at hughschool kids, but eventually it got used in a lot of colleges) its also focused more on solutions (but not hiding the problems), it's also called the Earth changes, or EARTHCHANGE II (attack of the CO2s)

ECI is 2 hrs long with an intermission, and ECIII is three 35 minute long parts. SO youmay want to download them before watching them.... but please be sure to let me know what you think! Thanks!" - scalarparty

13-16 named storms, with 8-10 becoming hurricanes, of which 4-6 could become 'major' hurricanes of Category 3 strength or higher.
But predictions are made to be broken; last year proved that. click here to read the NOAA article

click here to read Accuweather's JoeBastadi's hurricane placment predictions If you remember he called it for the gulf coast last year and unfortunately was dead on.

DRUGS

In Pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and generic name. For example, the trade name of Tylenol also has a generic name of Acetaminophen. Aleve is also called Naproxen. Amoxil is also call Amoxicillin and Advil is also called Ibuprofen.
The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.
Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of "cocktails", "highballs" and just a good
old-fashioned "stiff drink." Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of: "MOUNT & DO"
Thought for the day: There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today tha n on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

Tropical Storm Zeta shatters records
so I guess the report I posted earlier is incomplete.

Interesting how a few years ago tornado formation stopped keeping to a "season", looks like hurricanes want to join in the year round fun.

2005 tropical weather report
just in case people were busy back at the beginning of the month (like I was) and missed it.
Not a lot of surprises in the report, other than the paragraph about the possible reclassification of Cindy to a CAT 1 and considering Emily a CAT 5 at its strongest.

The Heat is On: The Evidence for Global Warming
Fox News Channel, this last Sunday night... (although I just watched it, thanks to my Knology DVR).

"The earth IS warming, the climate IS changing, and it WILL effect YOU." ~Rick Folbaum [program host] These words were the shot across the bow for program views. How much plainer can it be made? It was a reasonably good documentary. They spent half the hour on the evidence, which in this case was ice sheet withdrawal and severe weather. The second half an hour focused on new alternatives to fossil fuels; including hydrogen fuel cells and products made from corn such as ethanol and Dupont's Sorona polymer. They spent less time than most environmentalist produced documentaries on the blame game, which I thought was very productive.

Now, can we please get the 'big three' networks (who reach the majority of the nations viewers) to do these types of shows on their 20/20s, 60 minutes, and 48 hour programs.

I also find it compelling that as I write this the mid west is beset by spring-like tornado producing thunderstorms and that the future Hurricane Gamma is growing off the coast of Central America.
